The first book we did an activity on was Panda in the Park. It is a really cute book of hide and seek and I love the brilliant cut outs. In the book a panda goes on a hunt to find his four friends - a giraffe, a tiger, an elephant, and a snake. So for our activity I got four plastic animals to match the four animals in the book. For Izzys activity I had him stay in his room while I hid the four animals around the apartment and then let him loose to start hunting. He had lots of fun finding the animals and got really proud of himself everytime he did.
So along with our move I made a major life change and decided to start working on the side as an independent consultant for Usborne Books and More. My major full time job is still being a full time mommy but I have enjoyed learning more about childrens books and expanding my own kids libraries. As part of my job I have decided to design some activities around some of our favorite Usborne books. The first book we did an activity on was Panda in the Park. It took her a while to catch on to the fact that there were animals hiding places but she finally did find a snake. And I think it was an excellent activity for her to practice the concept of object permanence.

AuthorHi! My name is Cassity and I am the mom to a little 2 year old boy named Izzy and a baby girl named Sydney. I am lucky enough to get to be a stay-at-home mom to them and we have fun thinking of new activities to do together in the afternoons. We created this blog as an opportunity to share those activities with you. Archives
